Chris Morrison
 

Chris has spent almost 25 years working in the hospitality and wine industries. In restaurants as an award-winning sommelier and then as a respected wine communicator, author and educator.

As a sommelier Chris is a former winner of the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Sommelier of the Year award and led the wine team of the three hatted Guillaume at Bennelong restaurant for over six years. Chris was also awarded a scholarship at the prestigious Len Evans tutorial held annually in the Hunter Valley and regarded by wine writer James Halliday as ‘the most prestigious wine school in the world’. In 2017 Chris was selected to take part in the ‘Future Leaders program’. A joint initiative of Wine Australia, Winemakers Federation of Australia which focuses on the next generation of industry leaders shaping the future of the wine industry.

In his role as the Global Wine Ambassador for Pernod Ricard, Chris represented Australian wine around the world as a communicator, educator and media spokesperson for over five years. As the Global Brand Ambassador for Jacob’s Creek Chris worked with local and international stake holders across the marketing, activation and brand platforms for one of Australia’s, and the world’s, and most successful wine brands. During this time he was also the National Champagne Ambassador for G.H Mumm and Perrier- Jouet champagne houses, representing some of the world’s most well-known luxury brands in the trade, B2B and media channels. Chris was inducted as ‘chevalier’ into the prestigious ‘L’ordre de Coteaux de Champagne’ for his services to the champagne industry in Australia

Chris has contributed feature articles for the Australian Financial Review Life and Leisure section, Australian Financial Review Luxury magazine, Australian Traveller Magazine, Australian House & Garden, Time Out and is currently the wine columnist for Delicious on Sundays and The Robb Report Australia.

Chris signed with publishing house Murdoch Books and his first book, THIS IS NOT A WINE GUIDE, a hand book on how to create fun and memorable wine experiences both at home in and in our favourite wine bars and restaurants.
